5. How long do we store your personal data?
We keep your data only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for:

Where a legal obligation requires us to keep data for longer, we will do so, and delete it once that period ends.
6. What is the legal basis for processing your personal data?
6.1. Where you have given consent for a specific purpose (e.g. signing up to marketing emails), we rely on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
6.2. Where processing is necessary to perform a contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering into one (e.g. scheduling a consultation call), we rely on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
6.3. Where we are subject to a legal obligation (e.g. tax record-keeping), we rely on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
6.4. In rare cases involving vital interests (e.g. a medical emergency), we would rely on Article 6(1)(d) GDPR.
6.5. Where processing is necessary for our legitimate interests, and those interests are not overridden by your rights, we rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. This includes maintaining the basic security and functionality of our website.
6.6. Some of our service providers are based outside the EU/EEA, which means your personal data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA. Zoom Communications, Inc. is headquartered in the United States. We only make such transfers where the recipient is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, or where we have put Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission in place, together with any additional safeguards the transfer requires. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards that apply.
7. Do we use cookies on our website?
Yes, but only cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function (for example, to keep you securely logged in and to protect forms against tampering). We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies.
Full details of the cookies we use, their purpose and how long they last are set out in our separate Cookie Policy, available at https://mayluminate.com/en/privacy/
8. What are your rights regarding your personal data?

-
Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your personal data, subject to any legal obligation to retain it.
-
Right to restriction of processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data.
-
Right to data portability — you can ask to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
-
Right to object — you can object to our processing of your data, including for direct marketing.
-
Rights relating to automated decision-making — we do not currently carry out automated decision-making or profiling.
-
Right to withdraw consent — you can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
-
Right to lodge a complaint — if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you can complain to a supervisory authority. In Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it). If you are in the UK, you may also contact the Information Commissioner's Office (www.ico.org.uk). We would be glad to hear from you first so we can try to put things right.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 3. We will respond within one month of receiving your request, and will tell you if we need longer because the request is complex. There is no fee unless a request is manifestly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. We may ask you to verify your identity.
9. Can this Privacy Notice be amended?
Yes. We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Any changes take effect once published on our website. The "Last modified" date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
Cookie policy and banner
of Rebecca Mary Steele, trading as MayLuminate
*Last modified: 25 September 2026
This website uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, we do not build profiles of visitors, and no cookie banner is shown. One part of the site — the booking calendar — is provided by Zoom and does not load until you choose to open it. This policy explains all of it, and should be read alongside our Privacy Notice https://mayluminate.com/en/privacy/
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to recognise your device and remember information about your visit. Websites can also use similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels; where we refer to cookies below, we mean these too.
Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them manually.
Cookies used on this website
All the cookies below are first-party or infrastructure cookies and are strictly necessary for the site to work securely. They are set by the website platform (Django) and by Cloudflare, the service that protects the site from abuse and helps it load quickly.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration | Category | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sessionid | Keeps track of your session as you move between pages, so forms and page state work correctly | Session — deleted when you close your browser | Technical / strictly necessary | This website (Django) |
| csrftoken | Protects the forms on this site against cross-site request forgery attacks | Persistent, approx. 1 year | Technical / strictly necessary | This website (Django) |
| __cf_bm | Distinguishes human visitors from automated bots, to protect the site from abuse | 30 minutes of inactivity | Technical / strictly necessary | Cloudflare |
| _cfuvid | Distinguishes individual visitors sharing an IP address, so security limits apply fairly | Session | Technical / strictly necessary | Cloudflare |
| cf_clearance | Records that you have passed a security check, so you are not asked again. Only set if a check is shown to you | Varies; typically up to 30 days | Technical / strictly necessary | Cloudflare |
None of these cookies track you across other websites, none are used for advertising, and none build a profile of you. We do not sell or share what they contain.
The booking calendar
Our consultation booking calendar is provided by Zoom Communications, Inc. Unlike the rest of the page, it does not load automatically. You will see a placeholder with a button, and nothing is sent to Zoom until you choose to open it.
If you do open it, Zoom will set its own cookies on your device and will receive your IP address and basic technical information about your browser. Zoom is based in the United States, so this involves a transfer of data outside the EU/EEA. The safeguards that apply to that transfer are described in Section 6 of our Privacy Notice. Zoom sets out its own use of cookies at https://explore.zoom.us/en/cookie-policy/.
Choosing to open the calendar is what gives your consent for this, which is why no banner is needed. If you would rather not use it, you can book by emailing us instead, and Zoom will receive nothing. To withdraw your consent afterwards, clear the cookies in your browser as described below.
Tools that set no cookies
We use Google Search Console to see how this site appears in search results. It is verified through a DNS record or a file on the server, places no code and no cookies on the site, and cannot see or track individual visitors. It therefore needs no consent and is listed here only for transparency.
We do not use Google Analytics or any other visitor analytics tool.
Do you need to accept these cookies?
No. Under Article 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003), which implements the EU ePrivacy Directive, your consent is needed only for cookies that are not strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. Every cookie in the table above is strictly necessary, so no consent is required and no banner is shown.
The booking calendar is the only part of the site that is not strictly necessary, and it is handled by the click described above rather than by a banner.
If we ever add analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and put a proper consent banner in place before they are set.
How can I manage or block cookies?
You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of this website — submitting forms, for example — may stop working correctly.

Terms and conditions
*Last modified: 25 September 2026
The use of this website (mayluminate.com is subject to these Terms & Conditions. By using the website you ("you", "User") agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms should be read alongside our Privacy Notice https://mayluminate.com/en/privacy/ and our Cookie Policy https://mayluminate.com/en/privacy/#5C
Who we are
This website is owned and operated by Rebecca Mary Steele, trading as MayLuminate, VAT number IT14572230960, Via Canturina 90, 20821 Meda (MB), Italy ("we", "us").
Use of the website
All content featured or displayed on this website, including text, graphics, photographs, images, illustrations and software, and all related rights, is our property or that of people who have given us permission to display it. It is protected by copyright, trademark, moral rights and other intellectual property laws. By accepting these Terms & Conditions you are granted a revocable licence to access the website for your own personal, non-commercial use.
Booking a discovery call
You can book a free 30-minute discovery call through this website. There is no charge and no obligation to go any further.
If you need to cancel or move the call, we simply ask that you let us know as early as you can. There is no fee and no penalty for cancelling, rescheduling or not attending — a short email is all we need. Booking a call does not create a coaching agreement between us.
The booking calendar is hosted by Zoom and does not load until you choose to open it. Our Cookie Policy explains what happens when you do.
Payment
No payment is taken through this website, and nothing on it can be bought online. Paid coaching is arranged directly with us, and payment is made against an invoice we issue to you.
Where you go on to work with us, the fees, payment terms, cancellation arrangements and your rights as a consumer — including your right to withdraw — are set out in the coaching agreement we will give you before any work begins. Those terms, not these, govern our coaching work together.
Coaching materials and resources
Any worksheets, guides, exercises or other materials we give you are for your own personal use. They remain our intellectual property, and you may not share, publish, resell, reproduce or redistribute them, or use them to deliver coaching or training to anyone else, without our written permission.
What coaching is, and what it is not
Coaching is not therapy, counselling, or medical or psychological treatment, and it is not a substitute for any of them. We do not diagnose conditions, give medical advice, or provide healthcare of any kind. Nothing on this website should be read as medical or psychological advice.
If something arises in our work together that would be better supported by a doctor, a therapist or another qualified professional, we will say so and encourage you to seek that support. You remain responsible for your own health decisions and for seeking professional help where you need it.
Coaching works through your own reflection and effort, so what you get from it depends on your circumstances and on what you bring to it. We do not promise any particular outcome or result.
Prohibited use of the website
You are prohibited from using the site or its content:
-
for any unlawful purpose;
-
to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts;
-
to violate any international, national, regional or local regulations, rules, laws or ordinances;
-
to infringe our intellectual property rights or those of others;
-
to harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate or discriminate;
-
to submit false or misleading information;
-
to upload or transmit viruses or any other malicious code;
-
to collect or track the personal information of others;
-
to spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl or scrape; or
-
to interfere with or circumvent the security features of this or any related website.
We may withdraw your access to the website if you use it in any of these ways.
Our liability
The content of this website is provided for general information. We take care to keep it accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, free of errors, or always available, and we may change or withdraw any part of it.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or gross negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Information you send us
Please do not send us confidential or proprietary business information through this website. Anything sent through the contact form is treated as non-confidential for intellectual property purposes, so that we remain free to develop our own work without restriction. We will still handle any personal data you send us in accordance with our Privacy Notice.
This does not apply to coaching. What you share in a coaching session is confidential and stays between us, subject only to the limited exceptions set out in our coaching agreement: where there is a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else, where the law requires disclosure, and in anonymised form with our professional supervisor, as our accreditation requires.
Termination
We may suspend or withdraw your access to this website if you are in material breach of these Terms & Conditions, or if we decide to stop making the site available in the country where you live or from which you are accessing it. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first.
Applicable law and dispute resolution
Our business is established and registered in Italy. These Terms & Conditions are governed by Italian law, and the courts of Italy have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of this website.
If you are a consumer resident in another country, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory rules of the law of your own country, and you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
If something goes wrong, please come to us first. We would much rather hear from you and put it right than have you take it elsewhere, and we will respond to any complaint within 30 days.
Language
These Terms & Conditions are published in English and Italian. If the two versions differ, the Italian version prevails for users resident in Italy, and consumers elsewhere may rely on whichever version is in their own language.

Amendments to these Terms & Conditions
We may amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The new version comes into force once published on our website. You can check whether they have changed by looking at the "Last modified" date at the top of this page.
